France 2001
Here are the pictures from our Trip to France. Thanks for dropping by.

Le Puy En Velay

The main attraction in Le Puy En Velay is a 10th century chapel standing atop an 80 meter high volcanic peak. We saw a picture of this chapel in a tourist book before our trip and decided that we just had to see it. There is a staircase on the oposite side of the peak, so we walked up and took a look around.

Notre Dame de France — This huge pink statue of the Lady Madonna and child was cast in the metal of cannons captured in the battle of Sebastopol, erected in 1860. You can climb up a staircase inside the 75 foot tall statue and look around. The smaller statue of the priest is facing the Madonna.

Chambre D'hote — This is the B&B (Chambre D'hote in French) we stayed in during our visit of Le Puy. We also bought some real lace in this town, which you can see if you ever stay in the guest room of our house.
