France 2001
Here are the pictures from our Trip to France. Thanks for dropping by.

Pont du Gard

In order to cross the Gardon valley, where the river flows down from the nearby Cevennes, Roman engineers built an exceptionally large aqueduct 275 m long and 48 m high, consisting of a superposition of three rows of arches. This unique monument in a conserved natural environment is the longest preserved section of a Roman aqueduct in France.

Our Hotel — One of our nicest hotels, and our BEST dinner was in a small town near Pont du Gard.

Marseille — About 1 hour south of Pont du Gard is the southern coast of France, and a large city called Marseille. We drove there one evening to see the southern coast line. I'm not quite sure why the South of France is so popular with tourists. The beaches to the north seem much nicer.
